29 CFR 1910.181(f)(1): Employer shall develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for the derrick: The employer if failing to protect employees from mechanical hazards associated with operating the derrick without having developed and implemented a preventative maintenance program. The most recent occurrence of this was evident on May 23, 2018 during the investigation of a workplace injury 1 Block west of the intersection of Highways 281 and 34 in Grand Island, NE where the employer has crews of two employees operating Pumpsetter trucks; each truck has a company engineered and installed derrick used to pull pipes and pumps weighing over 2,000 pounds that is serviced base off the needs of the truck instead the needs of the derrick.
