Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 006 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.652(b)(2): Determination of slopes and configurations using Appendices A and B. Maximum allowable slopes, and allowable configurations for sloping and benching systems, shall be determined in accordance with the conditions and requirements set forth in appendices A and B to this subpart: a) At Wetumpka Airport West Trench, Wetumpka, Alabama: On or about January 20, 2016 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to cave in hazards from employees working in a trench which had a soil classification of Class C and the trench had benching in place which is not allowed for Type C soil. b) At Wetumpka Airport EastTrench, Wetumpka, Alabama: On or about January 20, 2016 and at times prior; the employer exposed his employees to cave in hazards from employees working in a trench which had a soil classification of Class C and the trench had not been sloped and the employees were not using trench boxes.
