29 CRF 1910.213(b)(5): On each machine operated by electric motors, positive means shall be provided for rendering such controls or devices inoperative while repairs or adjustments are being made to the machines they control. On or about January 23, 2020, the employer failed to ensure that positive means were in place on the Raimann rip saw (model protirip KM 310 M) to confirm that the hood cover area of the saw was affixed or interlocked so to prevent employees from opening the hood and reaching into the uncovered saw. adjustments are being made to the machines they control.
