29 CFR 1910.132(d)(1): The employer did not assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment. On or about July 20, 2019 and at times prior thereto, the employer failed to conduct a personal protective equipment (PPE) assessment in the Battery Changing Department to evaluate the need for steel toed boots while changing out batteries on pallet jacks and forklifts.
