29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i): The employer shall not permit respirators with tight-fitting facepieces to be worn by employees who have: 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Facial hair that comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function; or a. At the work site an employee issued and wearing a Honeywell 7700 respirator with P100 filters was wearing a goatee that interfered with the respirator's face piece to face seal. The employer did not ensure that employees using tight fitting face piece respirators were clean shaven to ensure a tight face piece to face seal.
