29 CFR 1926.451(b)(1)(ii): Where the employer makes the demonstration provided for in paragraph (b)(1)(i) of this section, the platform shall be planked or decked as fully as possible and the remaining open space between the platform and the uprights shall not exceed 9 1/2 inches (24.1 cm). a) On December 10, 2020 at 9369 Thoroughfare Road in Minocqua, Wisconsin, employees were working from fabricated frame scaffolding at twelve and one half feet above surface level without a fully decked platform. One nineteen inch wide plank was installed between the end frames with a forty inch opening between the plank side edge and upright's cross bracing. b) On December 10, 2020 at 9369 Thoroughfare Road in Minocqua, Wisconsin, an employee was working from fabricated frame scaffolding at eleven and one half feet above surface level without a fully decked work platform.
