29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. On or about November 13, 2020, one employee was performing a double belt change for an exhaust fan located on the roof while wearing hand protection that was not suited for the job, exposing the employee to hazards such as, but not limited to being struck by the fan or being caught in the belt and pulley.
