29 CFR 1910.179(n)(3)(iii)(b): During hoisting, the load contacted obstructions: A.) Erie Strayer Company, 1851 Rudolph Avenue, Erie, PA 16502, Pre-Fabrication Department (Department 50), I-beam drop staging area, west end of the building, on or about October 15, 2019 and times prior there to: An employee sustained a left tibia/fibula fracture when an I-beam that was being hoisted came into contact with the conveyor, kicked-out, and impacted a stack of I-beams that were stacked flange-on-flange, three tiers high. The I-beam from the stack fell onto the employee's left leg. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: Abatement certification is required within 10 days after the abatement date noted on the citation (see below). This certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date abatement was completed, method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
