OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees by exposing employees to heavy equipment struck-by hazards. CWPM Berlin Transfer Station, 415 Christian Lane, Berlin, Connecticut: On or about October 22, 2024, a Caterpillar 966m wheel loader S/N: CAT0966MCKJP00810 exited bay 4 in reverse, while performing waste movement activities, and struck an employee, resulting in fatal injuries. The vehicle routinely traverses to and from the bay at the transfer station.
