Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushed-by, struck-by, and fall hazards: Lowes Home Center, 198 New Lancaster Road, Leominster, MA: On October 7, 2024, and at times prior, employees were exposed to crushed-by, struck-by, and fall hazards when performing maintenance from inside a mobile elevating work platform (scissor lift) with an extension cord tied to the guardrails of the lift. A forklift ran over an extension cord tethered to the guardrail of an elevated scissor lift and caused the scissor lift to tip over resulting in a fatality.
