29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: (a) Atlas Hydraulics Inc. dba Gates Corporation at 700 East Redwood Boulevard in Brandon, SD 57005: On or about and at times prior to October 9, 2020, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from moving components and stock of the CNC tube bender Universal Tool & Engineering (UTE) M 30 Extended ED Serial Number 5136 that create caught-in, struck-by and pinch point hazards, in that adequate guarding of moving components and stock was not provided to reduce employee exposure. This condition exposed employees to caught-in, struck-by and pinch point hazards.
