Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.416(a)(1): Employees were permitted to work in proximity to electric power circuits and were not protected against electric shock by de-energizing and grounding the circuits or effectively guarding the circuits by insulation or other means: On or about September 4, 2020, an employee was electrocuted while terminating electrical conductors inside an energized 480/277 volt switchgear distribution cabinet. Energized circuits inside the distribution cabinet were not de-energizing and grounded or effectively guarded, exposing the employee to the hazards associated with electrical shock- electrocution. Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
