29 CFR 1910.106(e)(2)(iii): "Separation and protection." Areas in which flammable liquids were transferred from one tank or container to another container was not separated; and/or drainage or other means was not provided to control spills; and/or adequate natural or mechanical ventilation was not provided as required. a) Gryphon Technologies: On or about 09/25/2019, the transfer of Category 2 flammable liquid was not separated from other operations or by an adequate fire resistance while refueling a vessel in the shop. b) Gryphon Technologies: On or about 09/25/2019, a 55 gallon plastic container used to transfer a Category 2 flammable liquid to a fuel tank onboard a vessel was not provided with a spill containment during transfer. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
