29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, in-going nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production Area: The unguarded edges of the stacker plate exposed employees to a nip point hazard whenever the plate moves upward or downward, discovered on or about August 2, 2019. b) Production Area: The unguarded push arms on the stacker unit exposed employees to a nip point hazard as the arms retract, discovered on or about August 2, 2019.
