Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.454(b): Employees involved in erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, repairing, maintaining or inspecting a scaffold were not trained by a competent person to recognize any hazards associated with the work in question: (a) Orozcos Construction LLC at 9327 E 57th Pl, Denver, CO 80238: On or before November 30, 2018 the exposing employer did not ensure employees were trained to recognize hazards associated with erecting a ladder jack scaffold that is positioned above a roof or similar structure. An employee erecting a ladder jack scaffold at a new residential house stood on top of the unsupported shed roof over the front porch and fell approximately 10 feet, thus sustaining serious injuries. This condition exposed employees to fall hazards. Abatement Note: The training shall include the following topics, as applicable: 1. The nature of scaffold hazards; 2. The correct procedures for erecting, disassembling, moving, operating, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining the type of scaffold in question; 3. The design criteria, maximum intended load-carrying capacity and intended use of the scaffold; 4. Any other pertinent requirements of this subpart.
