Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(a)(6): Scaffolds shall be designed by a qualified person and shall be constructed and loaded in accordance with that design. On February 10, 2017, located on the North Wing of area D23, employees were exposed to fall hazards while performing masonry work from a tubular welded frame scaffold without the use of snap pins installed to support the adjustable saddle hanger to the frame of the scaffolding system per manufacture design. Potential fall height measured to be 23.6 feet. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence, or written records.
