Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to his employees, in that employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught-between the boom and body of a backhoe loader. This violation occurred on or about February 3, 2015, when an employee dismounted the backhoe loader with an idle engine; walked to the rear of the machine; and reached across the backhoe controls.
