Abstract: At 1:38 a.m. on August 15, 2018, an employee was using a flammable solvent-based adhesive to install thermoplastic polyolefin membrane on a roof. A coworker had set up a propane torch to dry moisture accumulation on the roof when the employee walked too close to the torch. The employee's clothing caught fire and the employee panicked and ran into the area of the roof where the adhesive was being applied. The fire enveloped the employee and he received second and third degree burns to eighty percent of his body and was hospitalized.
